Two ways to adjust: By dB uses a slider from −30 to +30 dB (+6 dB is about twice as loud, +12 dB four times); Normalize scans the whole file's peak and raises it as far as possible without clipping (to −1 dBFS). The video stream is copied without re-encoding and only the audio is rewritten as AAC (192 kbps), so quality is unchanged and processing is fast. Output is WebM if the source is WebM/MKV and MP4 otherwise, playable on iPhone, Android, PC and every social platform. Drop in an audio file (MP3/WAV/M4A) to adjust audio-only files too. The key difference from typical online tools: the file never leaves your device. Everything runs locally via WebCodecs, so meeting recordings stay private and there is no upload wait or size cap. Is my video uploaded?
No. Loading, adjusting and exporting all happen inside your browser on your device — nothing is sent to or stored on a server, so meeting recordings and personal footage stay private.
How much should I boost it?
As a rule of thumb, +6 dB is about twice as loud and +12 dB four times. Too much gain pushes loud parts past the maximum and they clip (distort), so when in doubt pick Normalize: it measures the whole file's peak and raises the level as far as possible without clipping. A file whose peak is already near maximum barely changes with Normalize.
Does it lower the video quality?
No. The video stream is copied without re-encoding; only the audio track is rewritten as AAC at 192 kbps. It's also fast because there's no video re-encoding.
Can it even out loud and quiet parts?
This tool applies one gain to the whole file (plus peak normalization). Compressing or loudness-normalizing to shrink the gap between quiet speech and loud music is out of scope — boost the whole file here first, then fine-tune in an editor if needed.
Which formats are supported, and what is the output?
