Cuts in your browser without re-encoding — instant, lossless, and the file never leaves your device.

A free online video trimmer for chopping the start and end off a long recording or pulling out the few seconds or minutes you actually need — no editor to install, nothing uploaded. Load a video, drag the start and end sliders (or play to a spot and press Start here / End here), and press Trim. The default Lossless mode copies the original video and audio streams untouched, so even multi-GB files finish in seconds with identical quality; the trade-off is that the cut snaps to the nearest keyframe, usually within a few seconds. When you need a frame-exact cut — an ad break, the start of a line — choose Precise, which re-encodes so the cut lands exactly where you set it. Output is WebM if the source is WebM/MKV and MP4 otherwise, playable on iPhone, PC and every social platform. The key difference from typical online trimmers: your video never leaves your device. Everything runs locally in the browser via WebCodecs, so there is no upload wait, no size cap, no account and no watermark. The trimmed clip can go straight into the Video Compress tool to make it smaller, or the Video Mosaic tool to blur faces — all in the browser as well. A recent Chrome or Edge is recommended.

How to use

  1. Drop in a video file (MP4, MOV, WebM…).
  2. Drag the start and end sliders, or play to a spot and press “Start here” / “End here”.
  3. Press “Trim”, then download the clip.

FAQ

Is my video uploaded?

No. Loading, cutting and exporting all happen inside your browser on your device — nothing is sent to or stored on a server. That's why there is no upload wait and no size limit. Leaving the page discards any in-progress data.

What's the difference between Lossless and Precise?

Lossless copies the original video and audio streams without re-encoding: instant, and the quality is exactly the original. Because video can only start at a keyframe, the cut lands a little before or after your mark (within 1–5 seconds for most files). Precise re-encodes and cuts exactly at the time you set; it takes time proportional to the clip length and quality is very slightly affected (a high-quality setting is used).

Can I cut at a fraction of a second?

Yes — pick Precise (re-encode) and the cut is placed at the exact time in 0.05 s steps. Play to the spot, pause, and press Start here / End here to capture the current time. Lossless mode snaps to keyframes, so use Precise when the exact position matters.

Is the audio cut too? Can I remove the audio?

Audio is cut over the same range as the video, so it stays in sync. Untick keep audio for a silent, video-only clip. If your browser can't carry the audio track, the tool tells you and exports video-only.

Can I cut several segments and join them?

This tool cuts one range at a time. For several segments, trim each one and join them in a video editor. Likewise, to remove a section from the middle, cut the part before it and the part after it separately and join them.

Which formats are supported, and what is the output?

Input: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and other formats your browser can read. Output: WebM if the source is WebM/MKV, otherwise MP4 — in Lossless mode with the original codecs intact. Precise mode outputs H.264/AAC MP4 (WebM in browsers that can't encode H.264).
