Write a Japanese resignation letter entirely in your browser, then print it or save it as PDF — for anyone who wants a free template with no sign-up and no Word file to hunt for. Enter your department and name, the reason (defaults to the standard "personal reasons"), the last working day, the submission date, and the company name and representative's title and name, and an A4 resignation letter is previewed for you. The standout feature is one-click vertical writing, which web tools usually handle poorly: switch between vertical and horizontal layout, and in vertical mode the date is automatically rendered in Japanese era kanji (e.g. Reiwa 6 = 令和六年三月三十一日), close to a hand-written letter. Switching the Type toggles the closing between a resignation notice (taishokutodoke, "I hereby tender my resignation") and a resignation request (taishoku-negai, "I respectfully request to resign"). A seal box can be shown next to your name and hidden when not needed, and you can pick an accent color for the seal box and title rule. Click "Print / Save PDF" to open the print dialog at A4 actual size, then print or choose "Save as PDF" and sign or seal it afterward. No install, no account, and nothing you enter — your name, the company name or the dates — is ever uploaded or stored; all layout happens on your device. A personal seal image and an addressed envelope can be made with the matching tools.
How to use
- Choose the Type (resignation notice or request) and the Writing direction (vertical or horizontal; vertical auto-formats the date in Japanese era kanji).
- Enter your department and name, the reason (defaults to personal reasons), the last day and submission date, and the company name and representative.
- Click "Print / Save PDF" to open the A4 actual-size print dialog, print or choose "Save as PDF", then sign or seal it.
FAQ
What is the difference between a resignation notice and a request?
A request (taishoku-negai) asks the company to accept your resignation and ends with "I respectfully request to resign"; it can usually be withdrawn before it is accepted. A notice (taishokutodoke) declares that you are resigning and ends with "I hereby tender my resignation" as a final statement of intent. Switch the Type and the closing wording changes automatically.
Can it make a vertical (tategaki) resignation letter?
Yes. Set Writing to vertical and the title, body, date, name and addressee are laid out top-to-bottom, right-to-left, with the date automatically converted to Japanese era kanji. You can switch back to horizontal in one click. Many web tools handle vertical Japanese poorly, so this is handy when you need tategaki.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. There is no account and no software to install — open the page, fill in the form, and your resignation letter is ready. There is no Word template to hunt for either.
Are my name and the company name stored?
No. All layout happens in your browser; the name, company name and dates you enter are never uploaded or stored. Only the type, writing direction, seal-box visibility and accent-color choices are remembered on this device.
