Transparent PNG — paste it onto documents in Word, PDF or images. Nothing is uploaded.

When a Japanese document or a remote-work workflow asks for a personal seal (認印/inkan), this tool lets you **make a round hanko from any name and download it as a transparent PNG** — right in your browser. Choose **vertical or horizontal layout, mincho (serif) or gothic (sans) style, vermilion or black, a size (personal 10.5mm, bank 12mm, registered 15mm, company 18mm), and resolution (DPI)**, and the seal is drawn instantly. Because it's a transparent PNG, you can drop it onto Word, Excel, PDF or images without a white box behind it, so it sits cleanly in a stamp box. Characters are auto-fitted inside the circle, so one or several characters never overflow the frame. Everything is drawn on a Canvas locally — the name you type and the image you make are **never uploaded** (no account needed). Note this is a cosmetic seal image, not a legally registered seal.

How to use

  1. Type the name or characters you want stamped (e.g. 山田) in the 'Name / text' field. The preview updates in real time.
  2. Set the look: vertical or horizontal layout, mincho or gothic style, size, color, frame on/off, and resolution (DPI).
  3. Click 'Download PNG' to save it. Paste the transparent PNG straight into the stamp box on your Word, PDF or image.

FAQ

Is the name I type or the stamp image uploaded anywhere?

No. Typing the name and drawing the seal both happen entirely in your browser on a Canvas — nothing is sent to a server. There's no sign-up or login, and nothing is stored.

Can I paste the hanko straight into Word or a PDF?

Yes. It's saved as a transparent PNG, so when you place it over Word, Excel, PDF or an image there's no white box behind it. Just scale the image to fit the stamp box.

Will vertical layout or multi-character names overflow the circle?

Characters are auto-fitted to a square grid inscribed in the circle, so one to four characters stay inside the frame. You can switch between vertical and horizontal in the toolbar.

Do personal, bank, registered and company seals use different sizes?

There are size presets — personal 10.5mm, bank 12mm, registered 15mm, and company 18mm. Pick the diameter that matches your use to get a realistic-looking seal.

Does this hanko have any legal validity?

It's a cosmetic seal image to make documents look right; it is not a legally registered seal (jitsuin) and carries no legal validity. It's meant for internal approval marks and tidying up the look of electronic documents.

Do I need an account or pay anything?

No. There's no sign-up or login and it's completely free, with no usage limits — remake it as many times as you like.
