A tracing worksheet generator that builds printable handwriting practice sheets for any text you type — letters, numbers, a name, or a full sentence. Each input line becomes its own block: the text is shown as a faded gray tracing line, followed by blank ruled lines to write on, repeated as many times as you choose. Set the tracing rows to 0–3 or All, so learners can trace first and then write, or just trace every line. Choose a line guide — a single baseline, a four-line handwriting guide (top, dotted midline, baseline and descender), a dotted center line, or none — pick the text size, and a serif, sans or rounded style. Use it for preschool and toddler letter tracing, name tracing, number practice, sentence copywork, or alphabet handwriting drills, for kids and adults alike. Text you enter is never uploaded — everything runs in your browser.

How to use

  1. Type the text to trace (letters, numbers, a name or a sentence). One line is one block, each with its own practice rows.
  2. Set the rows per line, how many faded tracing rows, and the line guide, text size and style. Choose All to make every row a tracing row.
  3. Press Generate to preview, then Print to print it (or save as PDF).

FAQ

Can it make name and sentence tracing worksheets?

Yes. Whatever you type on a line — a name, a word, numbers or a whole sentence — becomes one block and is laid out across the ruled lines. The top rows (as many as the tracing count) are shown faded so the learner traces them, and the rest are blank rows to write on. Put several lines in the box to make several blocks on one sheet.

Is there a four-line guide for alphabet handwriting?

Yes. Choose the four-line guide and the rows get a top line, a dotted midline (x-height), a solid baseline and a descender line — the standard layout for English handwriting practice. Type letters or words to get faded tracing plus blank rows on the four-line guide.

Can every row be a tracing row?

Yes. Set the faded (tracing) rows to All and every row becomes a faded tracing line, which is good for full trace-over practice. Set it to 1 or 2 to trace first and then write on the remaining blank rows, or 0 for blank ruled lines only.

Is the text I type stored or uploaded?

No. The text you enter is never sent to a server and is not saved. Everything runs in your browser (only settings like the line guide and text size are stored on your device for next time, and can be cleared with Reset).
