Crop a photo into a circle for a profile picture or avatar. The area outside the circle becomes transparent, so you get a clean round PNG with a see-through background. Load an image and a square frame appears — drag it and use zoom to center your face or subject inside the circle. Choose an output size: keep the selection's resolution, or 128 / 256 / 400 / 512 / 1024 px. Nothing is uploaded — every step runs locally on the canvas.

How to use

  1. Drop an image in, click to choose, or paste (Ctrl/Cmd + V).
  2. Drag inside the circle to position it and use zoom to size the subject.
  3. Pick an output size (match selection, or 128–1024 px).
  4. Click Download PNG to export the circle with a transparent background. The image is never sent anywhere.

FAQ

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images are never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere — they are processed only on your device.

Is the background transparent?

Yes. Everything outside the circle is exported as transparent (alpha 0) in the PNG, so it drops cleanly into a round avatar frame on social profiles or apps.

Can I choose the output size?

You can keep the selection's own resolution ("Match selection") or export a square of 128, 256, 400, 512 or 1024 px. For avatars, 256–512 px is usually a convenient size.

My subject is too small or too large in the frame — what do I do?

Use the Zoom slider to change the crop size: zoom in to make the circle smaller (subject larger), zoom out to include more of the image. Drag inside the circle to reposition it.

What if I want a square crop or an exact social media size?

For a rectangular selection use the Crop tool, and to match the exact size for X, YouTube, Instagram and others use Social Media Crop. This tool is focused on circular, transparent avatars.
