| separates columns. The last column becomes a ★ rating when enabled.
Make a printable reading log by choosing the column headers and the number of rows, then print or save it on A4. Many people track their reading in a spreadsheet, but when you want to write it by hand, have a child fill it in, or just print a sheet, a ruled log form is the easy way. Type your column headers separated by '|' — for example 'Date | Title & author | Pages | Notes | Rating' — and the tool lays out a table with a header row (an accent-colored bar) and ruled rows on an A4 sheet. You can set 1–30 rows, and the row height adjusts to fill the page. Turn on the '★ rating column' and the last column becomes five star outlines (☆☆☆☆☆) per row, so you can shade in how much you liked each book. The Kids preset uses simple columns and a name row; the Adult preset uses date, title & author, pages, notes and rating with more rows. Because the headers are fully editable, you can make a log for a school reading record, business-book notes, a picture-book log and more. Choose a serif or sans typeface, the number of rows, whether to show the star and name rows, and the bar color; these style choices are remembered next time, while the text you type is never stored. The output is a white-background PNG, so you can print it at A4 actual size at home or a print shop, file it in a binder, or share it as an image. Nothing you type is sent to a server or stored (only the style options are kept in your browser). Everything runs locally in your browser.
How to use
- Pick the 'Adult' or 'Kids' preset (it fills in the column headers, rows and name row; headers are editable, separated by '|').
- Set the number of rows (1–30), the ★ rating column, name row, typeface and bar color, and check the A4 preview.
- Click "Download PNG" or "Print" and print at A4 actual size to file or have a child fill in.
FAQ
Can I change the columns myself?
Yes. The columns are defined by the headers you type, separated by '|'. For example, 'Date | Title & author | Pages | Notes | Rating' makes a five-column table. Date and page columns are made narrow automatically, while title and notes columns get more width. Edit the headers to fit your use — a school reading record, business-book notes, a picture-book log and so on.
Can I add a ★ star rating column?
Yes. Turn on the '★ rating column' and the last column becomes five star outlines (☆☆☆☆☆) per row, so you can shade in how much you liked each book. Turn it off and that column becomes a plain blank cell where you can write a score or your own mark. The Kids preset has it on by default.
What's the difference between the kids and adult presets?
The Kids preset uses simple columns (date, book title, what I thought, rating) with a name row and larger rows that are easier to write in by hand. The Adult preset uses date, title & author, pages, notes and rating with more rows. Either way you can freely change the headers, row count, star column and name row afterward, so you can adapt it for older students or a reading-notebook style.
Is what I type uploaded? How do I print it?
No upload. The title and column headers are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to a server; only style options like row count, typeface, color and the star/name toggles are saved. The output is a white-background PNG, so you can print it at A4 actual size at home or a print shop, file it in a binder, or share it as an image.
