A maker for Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition (5e, including the 2024 rules) character sheets that you fill in and calculate entirely in your browser. Enter your character name, class & level, species (or race), background and alignment, then type the six ability scores (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma) and the ability modifier — floor of (score − 10) ÷ 2 — appears next to each one instantly. Your level sets the proficiency bonus (levels 1–4 = +2, 5–8 = +3, 9–12 = +4, 13–16 = +5, 17–20 = +6), and for all six saving throws and every one of the 18 skills (Acrobatics, Arcana, Athletics, Insight, Perception, Stealth and the rest) you just tick the proficiency box to have the total modifier worked out for you. Passive Perception (10 + your Perception total) and Initiative (your Dexterity modifier) update along with everything else, so there are no missed additions or wrong signs. Armor Class, speed, max / current / temporary HP and hit dice, plus free-text areas for attacks & spellcasting, features & traits, equipment, and other proficiencies & languages, round out the sheet. When you're done, "Print / Save PDF" opens a clean A4 sheet in a new window and your browser's print dialog — print it on paper, or choose "Save as PDF" to export a file with no extra software. A ruleset switch toggles the heading between Species (2024) and Race (2014); modifiers, proficiency bonus and the skill list are the same in both. Your ruleset choice is remembered for next time, but your character details (name, scores, notes) are personal creative data and are never saved or sent. Every calculation runs locally in your browser, and nothing you enter is uploaded to a server. This tool helps you fill in and auto-calculate the sheet; check your rulebook for class features, spells and feats gained on level-up.

How to use

  1. Fill in name, class & level, species, background and alignment, then enter the six ability scores. Modifiers and the proficiency bonus appear automatically.
  2. Tick the proficiency box on any saving throw or skill to auto-calculate its total; passive Perception and Initiative update too. Type AC, HP, attacks and features in the free-text areas.
  3. Press "Print / Save PDF" to open a clean A4 sheet, then print it or choose "Save as PDF" in your browser's print dialog. Nothing is sent anywhere.

FAQ

Is my character information uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything — including the name, ability scores and your notes — is processed entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded, stored or sent to a server. Because your character details are personal creative data, they aren't saved either; only your ruleset (2024 / 2014) choice is remembered for next time.

Can I save it as a PDF?

Yes. "Print / Save PDF" opens a clean A4 sheet in a new window and launches your browser's print dialog. Instead of a printer, choose "Save as PDF" (or Microsoft Print to PDF) to export a PDF file with no extra software. To print on paper, just pick your printer instead.

What gets calculated automatically?

Ability modifiers — floor of (score − 10) ÷ 2 — the proficiency bonus for your level, all six saving throws, every one of the 18 skills, passive Perception (10 + your Perception total) and Initiative (your Dexterity modifier). Saving throws and skills add the proficiency bonus only where you tick the proficiency box, and everything recalculates the moment you change a score or level.

Does it support the 2024 rules or the 2014 rules?

Both. Ability modifiers, the proficiency bonus and the skill-to-ability mapping are identical in the 2014 and 2024 versions of D&D 5e. The ruleset switch only changes the heading between Species (2024) and Race (2014). Check your rulebook for edition-specific class features and spells.

Can I use it for other systems like Pathfinder or Call of Cthulhu?

This maker is built around the Dungeons & Dragons 5e (2024) ability and skill system, so its automatic calculations follow D&D's formulas. Other systems use different skills and resolution methods, so they aren't supported directly — though you can still type freely in the text areas.
