Convert images between PNG, JPG and WebP. Use it to shrink a file by saving as JPG, keep transparency by saving as PNG, or compress further with WebP. For JPG and WebP you can tune quality (compression) with a slider, and when you convert a transparent PNG to JPG you can pick a background color so transparent areas are not flattened to black. Nothing is uploaded — every conversion happens locally in your browser (Canvas), so you can change formats without sending the image to a server.
How to use
- Drop an image in, click to choose a file, or paste an image (Ctrl/Cmd + V).
- Pick the output format (PNG / JPG / WebP). For JPG and WebP, set compression with the quality slider; when converting transparency to JPG, choose a background color.
- Click Download to save the converted image. The original is never sent anywhere.
FAQ
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image is never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere — it is processed only on your device.
Which formats are supported?
PNG, JPG and WebP, in any direction — PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG, PNG to WebP, WebP to PNG, and so on between these formats.
Will a transparent PNG turn black when I convert it to JPG?
JPG cannot store transparency, so you can set a background color to fill transparent areas. Choose white (or any color) and the previously transparent regions are filled with that color instead of going black.
Can I adjust JPG or WebP quality (compression)?
Yes. When you pick JPG or WebP, a quality slider appears. Lower quality makes a smaller file; higher quality preserves more detail. Tune it to suit your use.
How much smaller does WebP get?
It depends on the image, but WebP is often smaller than PNG or JPG at a similar look. It's a good choice when you want to keep file size down for the web.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. It runs entirely in the browser, so you can load an image, pick a format, and convert and save it on a phone or tablet.
