A naming helper that spits out a batch of original character names the moment you pick a vibe. Use it whenever you need a plausible-sounding proper noun — characters in a novel or web serial, PCs and NPCs for a tabletop RPG, names for game or illustration lore, or a character name to drop into an AI image prompt. Choose from six styles: high fantasy (weighty, classic syllables), elf (soft and flowing), dwarf (hard and sturdy), Japanese (hiragana names), sci-fi/cyber (clipped and futuristic) and dark/gothic (shadowy). Set the length (short, normal, long) and how many names to generate at once (1–50), and hit Regenerate as many times as you like. Click any name in the list to copy it, or use Copy all to grab the whole list newline-separated. Rather than pulling from a dictionary of real names, it randomly combines syllables (the smallest units of sound), so you get invented sounds that don't already exist — ready to use as your own. Your input and settings are never sent to a server; everything is generated on your device.

FAQ

Are the generated names or my settings sent to a server?

No. All name generation runs inside your browser. Your selections are not uploaded, stored, or transmitted; everything is handled on your device.

How are the names made?

Instead of picking real names from a dictionary, it randomly combines syllables (chunks of sound) prepared for each style. The length setting controls how many syllables are joined. Because the results are invented, they're easy to use as original proper nouns.

Can it make Japanese names?

Yes — choose the Japanese style and it combines hiragana into name-like sounds. It does not assign kanji, so use the readings as a starting point for picking the characters you like.

Can the same name appear twice?

Within a single batch it avoids duplicates as much as possible. Since there's a finite number of syllable combinations, generating many short names can exhaust the options and lead to repeats.

Can I use the names in commercial work?

The names are random combinations of sounds and this tool claims no rights to them. However, a result could coincidentally match a real person's name, a trademark or an existing work, so verify before using one for anything important.
