Pixelate, blur, or black out names and avatars in screenshots, faces, license plates, or any private detail — right in your browser. Nothing is uploaded: every edit happens locally, so you can redact a screenshot before posting it to X (Twitter), Discord, or anywhere else without sending it to a server.
How to use
- Drop an image in, click to choose a file, or paste a screenshot (Ctrl/Cmd + V).
- Pick Brush or Rectangle, choose Pixelate, Blur, or Black, set the strength, then drag over the area you want to hide.
- Click Download PNG to save the censored image. Undo or Reset anytime — the original is never sent anywhere.
FAQ
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The mosaic tool runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image is never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere — it is processed only on your device.
How do I hide names or avatars in a screenshot before posting to social media?
Paste the screenshot (Ctrl/Cmd + V), then drag over the names, avatars, or phone numbers you want to hide using Black or Pixelate. The image is processed on your device, so you can redact it before posting to X (Twitter), Discord, or anywhere — nothing is sent to a server.
How do I blur a face or license plate in a photo?
Load the image, select the Brush, choose the Blur (or Pixelate) effect, set the brush size, and paint over the face or plate. Then download the result as a PNG.
Can it detect and mosaic faces automatically?
Yes. Load an image and click "Auto-mosaic faces" — every detected face is censored at once with the effect you have selected (Pixelate, Blur, or Black). Detection runs entirely in your browser, so the image is never uploaded. Any face that is missed can still be covered by hand with the Brush or Rectangle.
Can I undo a mosaic if I cover too much?
Yes. Use Undo to step back one stroke at a time, or Reset to return to the original image. Nothing is final until you download.
Which effect is safest for hiding sensitive information?
For anything truly sensitive, use Black (a solid fill) or a strong Pixelate. Light blur or low-strength mosaic can sometimes be reversed, while black-out replaces the underlying pixels completely.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The tool uses pointer events, so you can paint with touch on a phone or tablet just like with a mouse.
