Convert a photo or AI-generated image to black & white (monochrome) or sepia (a warm, old-photo tint) and save it as a PNG, entirely in your browser. Whether you want a classy profile picture, a consistent tone across social posts, or a retro mood, you can do it in one tap without opening a heavy image editor. There are two modes — Black & white and Sepia — plus an Intensity slider that blends between the original and the full effect: 100 fully converts the image, 0 leaves it untouched, and values in between give a subtly desaturated or lightly sepia-toned look. The conversion is applied with the browser's canvas filter (grayscale / sepia) so it stays fast; the preview is scaled to fit your screen (up to 2048px on the long side), but the saved PNG is exported at the original pixel size. You can load images by dropping, clicking to choose, or pasting from the clipboard. All processing happens in your browser — the image is never sent to any server or API, so it's safe to use even where uploading files is not allowed.
How to use
- Load an image by dropping, choosing, or pasting it (nothing is uploaded).
- Pick Black & white or Sepia, then set the strength with the Intensity slider.
- Save the converted image as a PNG (exported at the original pixel size).
FAQ
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Loading, converting, and PNG export all happen inside your browser. The image is never sent to any server or API — it all stays on your device, so it's safe to use even in workplaces that block cloud editing tools.
Can I keep a little colour instead of going fully black & white?
Yes. Lower the Intensity slider to blend between the original and the effect. At 50 you keep about half the colour for a muted look, and at 0 you're back to the original. Sepia can be dialled in the same way.
What's the difference between black & white and sepia?
Black & white removes all colour for a clean monochrome (grayscale) result. Sepia removes the colour and then adds a warm brown tone for an aged, old-photograph feel. Switch between them depending on the mood you want.
Will the saved image lose quality?
The preview is scaled down to fit your screen, but the saved PNG is exported at the original pixel size with only the conversion applied. PNG is lossless, so there's no degradation beyond the conversion itself.
