A maker for blank manga / comic panel layouts (panel templates). Type one line per tier and a number for how many panels that tier holds — for example 2 / 1 / 2 — and each tier is split equally by height and each panel equally by width to draw the borders. Choose a page size of B5 (182×257mm), A4 (210×297mm), A5 or B4, in portrait or landscape. Set the bleed (3mm by default), the inner margin (basic frame), the column and row gutters between panels, and the line weight, all in millimetres, and toggle guides that show the trim line and inner frame. You can also number the panels in right-to-left, top-to-bottom reading order, which is handy for thumbnailing (name / storyboard). Pick 150 or 300 DPI so the page draws at true print size. When you're done, press Save PNG to export the template — load it into Clip Studio Paint, ibisPaint or Medibang as a layout underlay, or print it to draw on paper. This tool only draws blank borders; it never includes art from existing works. Your input is never sent to a server — everything runs in your browser (only settings like page size, margins and colors are stored on your device for next time and can be cleared with Reset).
How to use
- Type your tiers (one line per tier, the number = panels in that tier; e.g. 2 / 1 / 2).
- Set the page size, orientation, bleed, inner frame, gutters and line weight.
- Optionally number panels in reading order, then press Save PNG to export the template.
FAQ
How do I set the panel layout?
In the tiers box, type one number per line. Each line is one horizontal tier and the number is how many panels go in that tier. For example 2, then 1, then 2 makes a three-tier page with two panels on top, one in the middle and two at the bottom. Tiers are split equally by height and panels equally by width.
What are the bleed and inner-frame guides?
Bleed is the extra margin (3mm by default) outside the trim size that gets cut off after printing. The inner frame (basic frame) is the inner margin where elements that must not be cut — page numbers, key dialogue — should stay. With guides on, the trim line and inner frame are drawn as dotted lines, and the panels are laid out inside the inner frame.
Can I use it in Clip Studio Paint or other apps?
Yes. It exports a PNG at true size (B5, A4, etc.) at 150 or 300 DPI, so you can load it into Clip Studio Paint, ibisPaint, Medibang and similar apps as a panel-layout underlay, or print it to draw your thumbnails or rough draft on paper.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Your layout input is never sent to a server — everything is processed inside your browser, and the exported PNG is saved only to your device. Only settings like page size, margins and colors are stored locally for next time and can be cleared with Reset.
