A placeholder (dummy) text generator for when you just need some meaningless filler to pour into a mockup — web and landing-page designs, print and flyer layouts, UI components, and template previews. Choose between Lorem Ipsum (the classic Latin filler) and Japanese dummy text, pick whether to generate by paragraphs, sentences, or words, set the count, and it produces that much filler at once in the output box. There is an option to begin with the classic “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…” opening, and an option to wrap each paragraph in HTML <p>...</p> tags so you can paste the result straight into your markup. A Copy button above the output copies everything to your clipboard. The Japanese mode mixes kanji and kana so the text looks natural, which makes it handy for checking Japanese typefaces, line spacing, and character density in Japanese layouts. Importantly, this tool only generates — it never uploads, stores, or sends your input or output to any server. All processing happens in JavaScript entirely inside your browser, so it is safe to use even for client work. Note that the generated Latin and Japanese text is randomly assembled, meaningless filler with no real meaning or grammatical correctness.
How to use
- Choose the language (Lorem Ipsum / Japanese), the unit (paragraphs, sentences, words), and the count.
- Press Generate to fill the output box with that much dummy text.
- Use the Copy button to copy it to your clipboard. Nothing is uploaded.
FAQ
Can it generate Japanese dummy text?
Yes. Select Japanese as the language and it generates Japanese dummy sentences with a natural mix of kanji and kana, useful for checking Japanese typefaces, line spacing, and character density.
Can it start with the classic “Lorem ipsum…” opening?
Yes. With Lorem Ipsum selected, turn on “Start with Lorem ipsum…” and the output begins with the classic “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit…”.
Can I get output that is easy to paste into HTML?
Turn on “Wrap in <p> tags” and each paragraph is wrapped in <p>...</p>, ready to paste directly into your markup.
Is the generated text uploaded anywhere?
No. Generation happens entirely in your browser with JavaScript, and neither your settings nor the generated text is uploaded, stored, or sent to a server.
How much can I generate?
The count can be set from 1 to 200. Paragraphs and sentences have randomized lengths; the words unit joins that many words into a single sentence.
