Answer "what date is 3 business days from now?" or "how many working days until the deadline?" while skipping weekends and Japanese public holidays (national holidays, substitute holidays and citizens' holidays). In the add/subtract mode, pick a base date, a number of business days and after/before to get the resulting date with its weekday; choose "before" to count backwards from a deadline. The "count the base date as day 1" toggle switches between counting the start day or starting from the next business day (excluded by default). The count mode shows the number of business days between two dates along with calendar days, weekend days and holidays. Holidays are computed in your browser from the law (reliable roughly 2000–2099) and do not include company-specific closures such as year-end or summer breaks. Everything runs in your browser; the dates you enter are never stored or uploaded.

How to use

  1. In "Business days later / before", enter a base date and a number of business days, then pick After (+) or Before (−).
  2. Read the resulting date (with weekday), computed by skipping weekends and holidays. Turn on "count the base date as day 1" to include the start day.
  3. In "Count business days", enter a From and To date to get the working days between them plus weekend and holiday counts.

FAQ

Does it exclude public holidays?

Yes. In addition to Saturdays and Sundays, it excludes Japanese national holidays, substitute holidays and citizens' holidays, computed in your browser from the law (reliable roughly 2000–2099). It does not include year-end, Obon or company-specific closures, so check against your own company's business days.

Does "3 business days later" include the start date?

By default the base date is not counted; the next business day is day 1. To count the base date itself as day 1, turn on "count the base date as day 1".

Can I count backwards from a deadline?

Yes. Choose "Before (−)" to find the date a number of business days before the base date, skipping weekends and holidays — useful for working back from a due date.

Are the dates I enter stored?

No. All calculation runs in your browser; the dates are never sent to any server or stored.
